Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) provides several pathways towards permanent residency for foreign nationals who live or intend to live in Prince Edward Island. The PEI PNP immigration stream targets skilled workers, international graduates, workers in critical occupations and business people.
How Does Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program Work?
As in all Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP), interested candidates must obtain a Provincial Nomination Certificate in order to be able to apply for permanent residency.
Therefore, the first step is to verify whether you qualify for one of the Prince Edward Island PNP immigration streams. Each stream has different requirements and targets different groups of candidates.
The PEI PNP is based on so called ‘Expression of Interest (EOI)’ system. Thus, qualified candidates must submit an EOI, which tells the PEI PNP that you are interested in the program.
As part of the EOI, you will provide information about your age, language skills, education, work experience, employment and adaptability. Based on your answers, you will receive a score.
Periodically, PEI PNP draws candidates with the highest score and invites them to apply.
If you are invited, you will have 60 days to submit the provincial nominee application.
Those who are approved and receive the Provincial Nomination Certificate, may then continue and submit an application for permanent residence with Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
